Find out about the eight buildings that form the Peregrini Lindisfarne Landscape Partnership project "Conserving Buildings of Historic Importance" project, currently underway on the Holy Island of Lindisfarne. 10am - 4pm Saturday 9th and 11am - 4pm Sunday 10th, The Guild Hall, Marygate, Berwick-upon-Tweed.

This illustrated display is part of a larger exhibition taking place in the Guild Hall in Berwick over the Heritage Open Days weekend. 

One of 16 projects under the Peregrini Lindisfarne Landscape Partnership scheme, the Conserving Buildings of Historic Interest has identified eight buildings / structures in and around the village of Holy Island that require repair to ensure their long-term preservation. 

The buildings / structures include: Osbourne's Fort; The Palace Gardens; St Cuthbert's Chapel on St Cuthbert's Isle; the Popple Well Pumps; the Bark Pots; the Lantern Chapel; the War Memorial and the Market Cross. 

Conservation Architect Tristram Spicer has completed condition assessments for all eight structures and restoration and repairs are due to get underway imminently.

The Guild Hall is open on Heritage Open Day Saturday and Sunday

The Peregrini Lindisfarne Landscape Partnership Scheme is managed by a Partnership of professional and community representatives from Holy Island and surrounding shore side area. The lead organisation for the Scheme is the Northumberland Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) Partnership, hosted by Northumberland County Council.
