Join botanist Naomi Waite from the Northumberland Wildlife Trust for an informative introduction to whin grassland wildflowers, followed by a plant survey. 10am to 1pm, Thursday the 20th of July at Kippy Heugh, near Belford.

In February, over four sessions, Peregrini volunteers cleared large swathes of gorse from this site to allow the regrowth of the species that make whin grasslands so special. Revisit Kippy Heugh with a specialist to find out more about the wildflowers and plants that grow at such sites in our area.

Naomi Waite will run an introduction to whin grasslands, followed by a scientific survey of Kippy Heugh. This survey is one of around a dozen that Naomi is carrying out for the Peregrini Lindisfarne Landscape Partnership to inform the management of this unique habitat.

Naomi needs four volunteers for the survey, however the introduction at the start of the session can take a larger group.

If you're interested in helping with the survey and / or coming along for the introduction to whin grassland wildflowers, please email Sarah - sarah.winlow@northumberland.gov.uk or call 07557 326797.
